CATS FOR REHOMING

Rehoming Animals Since 2005

Rehoming a cat can be a rewarding and exciting experience but it is important that you understand the commitment can be anything up to twenty years of your life.

At Woodlands Animal Sanctuary we understand that all our animals’ health and well-being is paramount. We ensure that all our cats and kittens receive the highest standards of care and medical treatment possible before being rehomed. This includes:

  • Veterinary Checks
  • Worming Treatment
  • Microchipping
All of our cats and kittens leave Woodlands registered to the Sanctuary to ensure they can be re-united with their family.
  • Tests for Feline Aids and Leukemia where necessary
  • Spayed/Neutered
All cats over 6 months old are spayed/neutered and kittens from 9 weeks to 6 months come with a money off voucher for Ribble vets and Parker and Crowther *
  • Vaccinations
All of our cats receive at least their first vaccination before leaving Woodlands. Any cat who has not yet received their second vaccination and/or neuter, can get a discounted rate at either Ribble Vets or any Parker and Crowther practise. *

*Proof of adoption from Woodlands Animal Sanctuary will be required when claiming the discount vouchers.

This care costs over £320 per cat to Woodlands Animal Sanctuary but rehoming a cat from Woodlands means we only ask for a donation of £95 for one and £180 for a pair.

Our Rehoming Process

All of our applications go through the same three-stage process. This helps us to ensure not only the cats safety, but that you and your new cat are the perfect match. Please also pay special attention to our rehoming rules outlined at the bottom of this webpage.

Rehoming Rules

We will not rehome an adult cat into a home where there are existing adult cats.

We ensure that no cat or kitten is released to its new home until 48 hours after its vaccination.

If there are other pets in the household i.e. dogs, we will normally recommend a kitten unless we have an adult cat who is used to living with dogs.  Dogs are able to come to the Sanctuary to be introduced to the cat.

All existing cats in any household must be neutered.

All cats and kittens that leave Woodlands Animal Sanctuary must leave with the food and litter that they are currently using here, this can be purchased from our onsite shop.

Skye
This lovely girl is Skye!

Skye was originally brought in to us in April 2023. She was found on a building site as kids were throwing stones at her. She had hidden under the builders work van and then was brought in to us. Skye then found a new home. She then came into our pet hotel for a holiday when her owner emailed the sanctuary today to say she wouldn't be taking Skye back home as she has been biting the children.

Skye is a 1 year 2 month old all tabby female. She has been lovely while she has been with us. She loves attention, a good fuss and loves playing with her toys. Because of Skye's background, we think that she would suit an experienced home, with no children, no other cats or dogs and somewhere away from a busy / main road where she can go out during the day.

Skye is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, is up to date with her worming and flea treatments and will also come with 4 weeks insurance with Petplan. Margo
Margo
This beautiful girl is Margo!

Margo has the saddest of stories. She arrived with us in early July. She was pregnant, had sore eyes and bad teeth. She was quite grumpy too, but you'd expect that with all those issues and you haven't had anywhere to call home for a long time.

Margo had just started to come round to the staff and volunteers going in with her and she adored her chin tickles. She then gave birth, her kittens were all tiny and although she loved them she knew they weren't well and wouldn't make it. None of her kittens survived despite much help from the team at Woodlands. Margo had many hours of staff and volunteers sitting with her to comfort her through her saddest times as she slowly started to withdraw back into herself.

She is thought to be middle aged, she has been roaming the streets for years, we imagine she has had many litters of kittens over the years and hasn't been cared for, for a very long time. She is though confused about how to behave a will resource guard, particularly her bed. She is looking for a home with a very experienced owner, with no children. She is more than capable of the being the very sweetest cat and loves a cuddle, but it is on her terms.

Margo has had a full health check by our vet, a dental, is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, is up to date with her worming and flea treatments and will also come with 4 weeks insurance with Petplan. Are you the person to give Margo the Christmas she could have previously only dreamed of? If so please fill out our rehoming form.

Luna is a 7 month old calico female. She absolutely adores people and loves to be the center of attention! Luna has a lot of energy as she is a young cat so lots of toys and activities would be essential. Luna has had a full health check by our vet, is fully vaccinated, spayed and microchipped. She is also up to date with her worming treatments and will come with 4 weeks free insurance with Petplan. If you are interested in this very sweet girl, please fill out a form.

Molly
Molly
This stunning little lady is Molly!

Molly was brought in to us via another rescue as she was found in a garden. She had been there for several days, the people who found her had 4 big dogs, so they have put Molly in the shed at night with a heater and fed her ham and milk. She was taken to the local vets as she looks like she has an old bite wound on her front leg. This has now been treated and has healed really well!

Molly is a young black and white female, approx. 1—2 years of age. She is a lovely girl and despite being through quite a bit she loves attention and a good fuss! As we are unsure of Molly's background we would probably recommend a home with no children, no other cats or dogs and somewhere aware from a busy / main road where she can go out during the day.

Molly has had a full vet check, is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, up to date with her worming and flea treatments and will also come with 4 weeks insurance with Petplan. Could you be this lovely girls furever home? If so please fill out a form to register your interest!

Robbie
This handsome lad is Robbie!

Robbie was brought in to us via another rescue as an abandoned stray.

Robbie is an approx 2 year old black male. He is very outgoing and loves a good fuss and attention! We think Robbie would be suited to a home possibly with children over the age of 12 years, no other pets and somewhere he can go out safely during the day, so not near a busy / main road.

Sabrina is a 5 year old, black and white female. She is a lovely girl who is always at the front of her pen wanting attention and a good fuss! As we are unsure of her full background, we would possibly home her with no / slightly older (10 years plus) children, no other cats or dogs and away from a busy / main road where she can go out during the day.

Sabrina has had a full vet check, is fully vaccinated, spayed, microchipped, up to date with her worming and flea treatments and will also come with 4 weeks insurance with Petplan. Janie
Janie
This beautiful lady is Janie!

Janie was brought in via another rescue as her owner had sadly passed away and there was no one to care for her.

Janie is a tabby and white, 5 year old female. Janie is a lovely lady who enjoys a good stroke and fuss. She hasn't been with us long and it is taking a while for her to be comfortable in her surroundings but she is such a loving girl and sweet girl.

We think that Janie would suit a home with someone who will be able to bring her out of herself even more. Were sure that once she is in a safe home environment she will flourish. We know that Janie will make an amazing companion in the right home. Janie would need a home with no other pets, no children and somewhere away from a busy / main road where she can go out during the day.

Janie has had a full vet check and her 1st vaccination. She is spayed, microchipped, is up to date with her worming and flea treatments and will also come with 4 weeks free insurance with Petplan. If you are interested in this stunning girl, please fill out a form!
