In Memory of....

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,
that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all our special friends to run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour,
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,
just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing.
They each miss someone special, someone who was left behind.
They run and play together, but the day comes when one
suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent, his eager body begins to quiver,
suddenly he breaks from the group, flying over the green grass faster and faster.
You have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet
you cling together in a joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head
and you look once more into those trusting eyes,
so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross ' Rainbow Bridge '  together...............

Harvey and Doogle suffered from severe arthritus later in life and when medication was unable to control the pain they were given eternal sleep earlier this year.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Curly our long term sponsor cat has been given eternal sleep aged somewhere near 20 years old. She was handed in many years ago heavily pregnant with the offer of a home after her kittens had been adopted. Sadly the owner decided not to bother when the time came and Curly's life hung in the balance and as she was semi feral a home could not be found. We made a decision to keep her as an office cat available for sponsorship and Curly lived happily here for many years, surviving cancer on her ears which had to be removed.
She will be sadly missed.

Jasper has been a resident at Woodlands for over 5 years. The vets suspected he had a underlying medical condition and reccomended he stayed with us. He sadly died in the summer of 07 from heart failure. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tawny was abandoned at Rufford tip some years ago with her brothers. Due to lack of human contact she remained semi-feral but settled well here, in our long term accommodation. She was unfortunately hit by a car and died from her injuries. Although timid, she was very sweet to all who knew her.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tilly was handed into the Sanctuary as an unwanted pet. Due to her previouse life, she didnt trust many people and remained cautious with strangers. She was found dead and a postmortem revealed she had also been in a road accident. She is sadly missed especially by Jacqui who had a special rapour with her.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kitty came to the Sanctuary in 2005. She had been a brood mare all her life and spent her last year lapping up the
luxury and love we had to give her.
She died in December 2006 from natural causes aged 28 years.
She will be in our hearts forever.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bambam and Barny were 13 years old when they sadly passed away from natural causes in 2007
They will be in all our thoughts at Woodlands Animal Sanctuary and will be sadly missed
.
